If you do play it, don't forget to come back and tell us what you think. Just don't expect it to be nearly as polished as FFX. But you'll have to decide if playing the old version is right for you. When I launch FF7 with 7th Heaven, none of my controls respond including my keyboard and controller, (PS4. Tifa's Limit Breaks are somewhat different than those of other characters. This is probably not a popular opinion on this sub, but you also have to realize that you're asking people who are big enough fans of the original that the spend time posting on a sub about it 20 years after its release. Back in the present, Barret will ask you to join him. At this point, since the remake is so near, I normally just recommend new players try that when it comes out, unless I know they'd enjoy the original. But if you go into without expecting a clunky 1997 turn based RPG with goofy graphics, you're going to be disappointed. It is an absolutely amazing game, but the limitations of the technology are apparent, and if you're used to playing newer games, I'd be afraid that the experiences you're used to mixed with the extreme hype of the game, might make your expectations far exceed your enjoyment. That said, I do not think the game has aged very well. I don't know how many times of played it or how any hours I've dedicated to watching videos/reactions about the remake. Let me start off my say that FFVII is, without a doubt, my favorite video game of all time.
